Let's review the meaning of "Electronic Learning". ASM-I "Arithmetic Skill Master I " is a good example. Electronic Learning presents to the pupil the following:
(a) The computer can present the skill, concept or idea to the pupil using multimedia, top of the arts graphic and teachers voice to remind the pupil that he is being taught.
(b) The Program is constructed so that a pupil may learn at his or her own rate of learning.
(c) The pupil is given three ways to show that he has learned his or her objective- quiz #1, quiz #2 and the examination. They must answer correctly this number of problems to show that he has passed quiz #1, quiz #2 and the examination. The pupil working quiz #1 and quiz #2 may answer incorrectly but if he or she rework the problem and gets the correct answer ASM-I will give him credit for working the problem correctly. In the examination the pupil must answer correctly on the first attempt as is what is expected throughout his or her life.
(d) A record is kept of attempts of the pupil to learn if all our pupils use ASM-I to learn the skill of the arithmetic of whole numbers and their results. The study of this knowledge brings to existence of "Quality Control" in education.
